Light hearted love life help

I felt slightly out of place reading and reviewing a book based on single relationships whilst being happily married. Now I only wish I had read it whilst being single! He texted is the perfect combo of good advice for those who need it whilst being light hearted enough to remind us to not take it all too seriously. A fun read fist and foremost.... with advice from some pretty cool people thrown in.

Stop Texting And Start Talking!

Single women from every generation have always wondered if the man that occupies her thoughts is “The One.” Does she ever cross his mind as often as he crosses hers? In today’s modern world where the majority of communication is done electronically with a slew of various gadgets and devices, dating has become a tricky ledge that women find themselves treading upon very carefully, trying to decipher what Mr. Wonderful’s most recent text, email, Facebook comment, etc., really means. With He Texted, the authors bring the reader some direct analysis and somewhat expert advice and varying points of view from three men, known as The Bros covering a wide range of scenarios to help the single gal determine if he’s a keeper or if she should move on.

While reading this book, I couldn’t stop thinking that if the women who submitted the texts for analysis spent as much time verbally communicating with the man she is interested in as she does trying to first decipher and comprehend his texts, emails, etc., she would probably find herself in a meaningful relationship in no time. But then what do I know? I’m certainly no expert on relationships or matters of the heart, but I can’t help but think that in order to determine if you are compatible, it’s best to get to know each other speaking out loud to one another. As a society, are we really too busy to do that or are we just lazy and just want to see positive results with little to no effort on our part?

I found this book very easy to read and enjoyed that the authors had real men offering real advice about the various topics ranging from “he friended” to “he booty-texted” to “he loves you” and all of the pitfalls and drama in between. You could also get the same advice, feedback and interaction if you just visit the He Texted website. I also enjoyed that even with the various points of view from both the guys and the gals, there was no gender bashing. The guys were not afraid to label another guy a tool or the girl as na�ve or gullible, but when they did, they did so with tact and professionalism. Nobody went off on a tangent, jumping on the soapbox to vilify one gender over the other. I felt like the advice and feedback provided was given with sincerity and honesty. The book also provides a good amount of humor, especially with the “text examples” provided in the book.

Overall, although common sense and logic should prevail and people should be interacting with their voices instead of their thumbs on a keypad, the digital age we live in is proof that it isn’t happening. More people are finding their mates online year after year and this book provides a good road map for Ms. Single Gal to use to help her understand the signs so she is successful on her journey to Happily Ever After.

I loved this book and the great insight it gave into dating in the digital world. Between texting, facebook messaging and snapchat it can get pretty difficult. The Bros advice was amazing and Jared was absolutely hilarious! Definitely recommend this book to anyone who's dating. From 20 year olds to 50 year olds, there's something in here that will help you out before your next date.

A Seminal Work

The obscure international relations world of international organizations and countries is generally visible and comprehensible to academics and human rights activists, but Anaya has written a seminal work in this area that provides sufficient background for readers to understand the relationship between indigenous peoples and human rights. This is extremely important reading for environmental activists interested in preserving the rainforest, defending sensitive environmental homelands of tribal peoples or understanding the question of access to international fora.
Anaya provides a legal background for the domination of the Western hemisphere by whites and shows how thin it really is.
But the really great thing about this book is that it shows what the state of indigenous people in international bodies is and how it is harnessed by human rights and environmental groups.

Review: "New Urban Tribes of South Africa"

I purchased this book as background material for my MBA Marketing Management assignment.

It was quite hilarious at times but still very educational and informative. The marketing landscape has changed in leaps and bounds and advertisers, or rather marketers, have their work cut out for them.

The segmentation lines are SO blurred that I'd find it impossible to target a particular segment. It made me scrutinise ads with a watchful eye and pay attention to the different brands.

I'd like to point out that there were a few misses like the "Yummy Mummy" label. I think Dion got it wrong. "Yummy Mummies" are mummies who've not only retained their pre-baby physiques, but mummies who still have the "it" factor and they've definitely not left their kids in the care of their parents. I can attest to that!

The "Pink Blacks" now that is a label I didn't know. They are divided into 2 groups. The "skinny jeans brigade" and the "pink chinos" mature men. I've seen them. Yep. Yep. Yep.

All in all, a very light entertaining read and am definitely using some elements of it in my case study.

Some chapters needed to be beefed up like the "Domestic PA" and the "Diamond Chips". They were a bit thin in content.

Highly recommend it if you've got a brand/service/product/cause to launch.

For many years we've been ushered by LSM's, and now a refreshing look shifts the paradigms on how many South African consumers have evolved over the past 18 years. “Diary of a Zombie” transports us to a desolate world, a planet wiped out by a massive pandemic where human beings have almost become extinct. After a few chapters in which the character is introduced, we will witness a story of redemption, full of human values, that is centered around a peculiar friendship. Erico’s cold, cynical and unsociable behavior will gradually change as he meets a lonely and mysterious 8-year-old girl on whom humankind’s scarce chances of survival depend. During the whole of his epic adventure, Erico will be linked to his most human side again, as he recovers memories and feelings he had not experienced since the times when warm blood still coursed through his veins.

“Diary of a Zombie”, set in a post-apocalyptic Barcelona, presents a pleasant story which will bring the reader both tears and laughter. It is a breath of fresh air that reinvents a genre which apparently had nothing new to offer.

Great novel, from the beginning till the end. Full of action and drama, if you loved the road from Cormac Mcarthy, if you like the survival video games and the sci fi movies all is mixed in this novel. If you buy it you don't regret it at all.

Magical

This is the continuation of the amazing Is She, Isn't She?, and it picks up about 4 years after the events of that novel. So, don't even start reading this unless you've read Is She, Isn't She? But you will not be disappointed. Yes, it's erotica, but it's erotica with a heart, a brain, and brilliant plotting and characterization. The author deserves far more recognition and reward for what she has wrought. Far too many erotic novels are cheap cash grabs that are over in 15-20 pages. This, in contrast, is an epic exploration of the human heart, and the human libido. To say that the action gets hot and heavy is an understatement. But it's not just about hot sex. These characters will stick with you long after you've finished the book, and I can only hope we might see them, once again, a little further down the line.

Excellent, Excellent Work Once More!

This is a work of art. Seriously! A must read! I'm a bookworm and I have never finished a book this fast, I was practically flying down the pages. If you're into erotic literature this is pure magma. Well written, exquisite vocabulary, vivid descriptions, characters which are well defined and interesting, this book has it all. But the real crowning achievement of this author is the plot; so many twists and turns, all so well written that you're actually living through the protagonists' eyes.

If you're into erotic literature READ THIS. You'll be thankful for it!

I EAGERLY await further work from the author, she has a rare gift and talent for it.

A beautiful, emotional story.

Written with consummate skill, this wonderful story details love that was lost and regained. The characters were so real and the dialogue was masterful. You could not help getting emotionally involved with these two lovely ladies. Tears were welling in my eyes throughout the last chapter. I highly recommend this story as it will stay with you long after you've finished. A big thank you and a job expertly done to Kelly!
